Creation
These mandalas were created in Pokhara, Nepal.
This collection provides the color counterpart to
Next Generation: black & white.
These pieces were created in flow-state alongside the black and white collection. The artist gave each piece a name and description following the completion of the collection, but while the pieces were being created, the artist operated without concepts and allowed the art to simply flow.
Created by lakeside, with glorious snow-capped Himalayas in view.
The artist became mesmerized with this pattern and did a henna tattoo on her hand to match the art piece.
The morning this piece was begun, the artist badly injured her ankle by slipping on the stairs at her guesthouse. For the next five weeks, the artist rarely left her home, to allow her ankle to heal.
Art was indescribably important at this time.
Her ankle is mostly healed at the time of this collection being released, about two months after the initial injury. She now fosters a deep gratitude for the ability to walk!
Huge thank you to my dear tattoo artist friend Sumanth (left) for teaching me how to do this technique, which became a central theme in this collection. Your teachings continue to inspire me - a mark of a great teacher.
